Although the dialogue in Star Ocean: The Last Hope is so bad that it's ridiculously embarrassing, the game itself has thus far been more fun to play than Final Fantasy 13. Get this, play it, and have fun. Just don't let anyone hear the game while you're playing it and you'll have a great time with it.

My main complaint by far is how incredibly - and I do mean over the top, incredibly - emo that they've made Edge, the main character. The character's attitude is so horribly full of self-loathing that it shatters the wall of disbelief that any good story aims for. It then grinds those pieces into dust and blows it into your eyes. The character is that bad. I'm dead serious. This is why you do not want anyone to ever hear the game while you're playing it.

The rest of the game, however, is pretty good. There are a lot of options and, over all, it's just fun to play.
